The Loa a very exciting economy model saddle. I was shocked when I found out the price. I pegged it to be at least $500 more. The balance, panel angles, gullet width, stitching quality, leather ..... well, I just can't express how impressed I am. Now, it's not a "sexy" saddle in that it hasn't a high "flash" quotient, but I'm such a sucker for good, hardworking, well fitting saddles that this is an instant favorite. The seat is a flatter type but surprisingly secure in it's feeling. I think that is because you get a close contact sensation with the horse. There is an adult model with a 17.5" seat and a 34 cm tree and the "Jr." model with a 16.5" seat and a 29 cm tree.
This saddle is produced in Argentina. It was conceived and designed in Germany. The tree is a brand NEW design made specifically with the Icelandic horse's shape in mind. It is wood laminate and no other saddle is built on this foundation. The panels are firm, somewhat flat and provide a large weight bearing surface. The leather is stiffer with a more dense feel than the Stigur, but breaks in easily and wears like iron.
The Loa is a fabulous value and will give years and years of service.
