The best cooler you can buy at an exciting introductory price! This is NOT your average horse cooler. The fabric is an advance in textile development and the cut is specifically for our favorite breed.

The material is fiber dyed and custom woven to our specifications in Germany. It is a three-layered woven material that will maintain it's structural integrity - therefore looking better, longer.

The Material

Two fiber types are used: 60% high-grade cotton and 40% Dralon - a high-performance, trade marked acrylic fiber, developed in Germany. Dralon was chosen to maintain the natural touch-and-feel of the fabric while increasing the durability of the fabric when compared to 100% cotton coolers. The dog-boned cross section of the Dralon fiber virtually eliminates any static build-up in the fabric. Even in the lowest humidity environment, you will be able to slide this cooler off your horse without the typical ZAP of polyester coolers. It also means that shavings and hair simply will not cling to the fabric due to static. Just shake the cooler out and it's looking good again.

Dye Process

IBENA is fiber dyed. The cotton and acrylic fibers are infused with the color. These fibers are then spun into yarn, which is then woven into the fabric. What does the mean to you? The fabric will not bleach out - not through sun exposure or repeated washings. Other fabrics are top-dyed - the color is applied only to the top level of the finished fabric, so it can easily bleach out rather quickly.

Weaving

The weaving process is done with a micro-nap - a very short fiber that gives it the plush look and feel and also aids in the wicking. With a micro-nap, you will not see the typical pilling.

Performance

This fabric is called an active fabric - through the three-layered weaving process and the fiber choices, the fabric ACTIVELY transports the moisture from the horse's coat through the fabric to the outside where the moisture evaporates .... leaving room to transport more moisture away from the horse. The fabric can take up to 1/5th of its weight in moisture before it even feels wet. On the opposite, polar fleece works by creating a passive 'plastic-like' barrier around the horse's back, trapping the body heat of the horse and through this passive process, the horse eventually dries off. However, since this is a passive process, if the polyester cooler is left on the horse after it is dry, a heat build-up occurs under the polar fleece and the horse will re-sweat. Not so with the IBENA fabric. The fiber combination will avoid re-sweating.

Design

A unique pattern has been developed specifically for these coolers, much more sophisticated than other designs.

• European Half-Neck. The cooler covers the bottom of the neck and the chest with a double-layer of fabric. The lower neck are and the chest are some of the most important areas of the horse to keep warm and to protect from drafts and also the most important areas to get dry fast. A contoured cut neglects these areas.

• Contoured Back. We have a back seam that contours to the different back forms of horses, covering the entire back evenly without the gaps and tension areas you get with many other coolers.

• Seamed Croup. We use two to three tabs over the croup area to achieve a close and custom fit over the back of the horse. There is no draping, just an even, smooth coverage to maximize the fabric performance.
