A saddle must possess certain qualities if it is to be truly useful as a piece of sports equipment. It must serve as a connection between the horse and the rider to create a united, harmonious image. In order to design a saddle that accomplishes this, it is necessary that the designer has extensive knowledge of human and equine anatomies. He also needs a clear understanding of the way a horse moves, its gaits and other characteristics. In addition, fine craftsmanship and an extensive knowledge of leather and other materials are contributing factors in producing horse tack of the highest quality. The Benni's Harmony saddle is a product which combines the expertise of professionals in the fields of riding and manufacturing. Stubben produces a line of Icelandic saddles conceived and designed by Benni Lindal. Benedikt G.Líndal or "Benni" is one of only four trainers who is certified with the most advanced teaching and riding diploma from FT - The Association of Icelandic Horse Trainers. Benni graduated from the Agricultural College at Hvanneyri in 1973 winning the Morningpaper-silvershoe, an award given to the trainer of the year. Since then, training horses and riding instruction has been Benni´s profession mostly in Iceland, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. The Elegant model has a flatter seat than the Allround without being too flat. The shallow seat provides for a greater range of the rider's movement and yet maintains support. The sports saddle design allows for the seat position to be changed without it affecting the horse's movement or its natural eagerness to go forward. The model shown is an extra wide tree, ebony seat and flaps with black panels and sweat flaps. 17" seat.
