Invented in Sweden to offer protection from biting midges, flies and other insects that can cause suffering and health issues related to allergic reactions. Made from light, strong fabric, it is designed to be worn 24/7, yet doesn't damage the hair coat. Highly breathable to prevent overheating and dries quickly after rain. Seams are elasticized and straps are adjustable to ensure a near customized fit. Totally machine washable with an estimated "life" of two to three years.

Five sizes offered for the Icelandic horse: Size 3 - Compact Icelandic Cut; Size S4 - Compact Cut w/extra room in the neck and shoulders; Size 4 - Average Icelandic Cut; Size M5 - Average Icelandic Cut w/extra room in the neck and shoulders; Size 5 - for the larger Icelandic horse w/a generous cut through the neck and shoulders. Color choices are chestnut, dark brown and grey. Hoods sold separately.

Sizing hints:

Take the "A" Measurement: The A measurement is an imaginary straight line from the center of the chest to the end of the hindquarters. Do NOT measure around the body to the tail, but imagine your horse backed up against a wall and take a straight line measurement from the center of the chest through the horse to the wall. This measurement should be within a few inches of the length of the blanket size that the horse normally wears.

Now take the "B" Measurement: Run the tape around the circumference of the loins, taken just in front of the hindquarters.

The "B" measurement is ALMOST ALWAYS LARGER THAN "A". If it is not, please take both measurements again.

Light Horse vs. Heavy Horse: A light horse typically has both A and B measurements under 70 while a heavy horse will have measurements over 70. Sizes 3 and 4 are specialized for Icelandic and other similar horses. We will analyze your measurements before sending your blanket to ensure you receive the correct size.

Measurement Guide

If the horse wears a 60 inch blanket, the "A" measurement is expected to be about 56" - 59". If the blanket size is normally 69" then the "A" is expected to be around 66" - 68"

Return/Exchange Policy

Blankets and Hoods may be returned within 14 days if returned item is in an unused state. Please ensure returned items are adequately packed. Products should be insured in the event of loss or damage during transit. Damaged and/or soiled blankets or hoods will not be considered for exchange or refund. Please remove all hair before returning product. A short cycle in the dryer at the LOWEST setting works well in this effort.
